Dr. Remington is a Certified Aviculturist by the American Federation of Aviculture. She was nominated as one of the top avian veterinarians by Bird Talk’s Bird Channel.com. Dr. Remington is a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a B.S. in Animal Science, did post-graduate work at the University of Louisville, and obtained her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Purdue University. She was granted diplomate status in the avian practice specialty by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in 2001. She was the state liaison for the Association of Avian Veterinarians for several years, and is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, several local veterinary associations, Big Bend Bird Club, and the Tri-State Avian Society. She is currently practicing avian, exotic, and small animal medicine and surgery in Tallahassee, Florida.
She and her husband, Maitland Remington, Jr. raises Miniature Horses, driving ponies, and Tennessee Walking Horses on a picturesque farm in Monticello, Florida. Dr. Remington also raises several species of endangered parrots.
